Advancing Mobility
At Enterprise Mobility, we embrace new vehicle technology. In doing so, we’re helping to advance innovation and breakthroughs in mobility options as they come to market.
Vehicles are undergoing an incredible transformation, with technology evolving at its most rapid pace, opening up new opportunities for our customers, our business and our partners. With this evolution, we are committing resources to ensure we are harnessing the right technology, in the right ways, to best serve our customers.
At Enterprise Mobility: every interaction or trip helps us learn more so we can assess and use these tools and technologies to deliver better customer and employee experiences. We listen to customers and leverage our deep mobility expertise to create innovative, individualized solutions.
Connected Vehicles
Today, by accessing our vehicle data through the manufacturer, our expanding connected vehicle fleet across United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain and Germany provides exciting opportunities to our customers and our global operations, as well as valuable insights to our vehicle manufacturer partners.
A connected fleet can allow for a more seamless experience for rental customers by removing friction from the rental transaction. For example, technology in connected vehicles allows us to streamline fuel level readings, odometer readings and other stats to eliminate the need for a representative to enter the vehicle as part of the rental process. This makes the check-in and check-out process more efficient for customers.
Information from a connected vehicle can also bring to life critical details, like understanding vehicle health and preventative maintenance. This provides the ability to help improve vehicle downtime, increase safety opportunities and enable new digital and automated customer experiences.
As we continue to add connected vehicles into our fleet and introduce new technologies and features, the opportunities to bring enhanced experiences to our customers will vastly increase. The future of connected vehicles will not only advance the driving overall customer experience, but also the entire mobility ecosystem.
Enterprise Mobility has over 850,000 rental vehicles connected directly through vehicle manufacturer technology, and more than 300,000 connected through third-party telematics supporting and enhancing the client experience.
Autonomous Vehicles (AV)
Enterprise Mobility will play a critical and meaningful role in introducing autonomy to the communities, customers, and partners we serve — just as it has with the integration of previous vehicle technologies.
As autonomous features become more prevalent in today’s vehicles, we’re focused on how to thoughtfully scale their impact. Active engagement with industry and government organizations furthers our commitment to shaping a future of mobility that is seamless, intuitive, and accessible — driven by purpose. We are focused on the following:
- Experiencing it firsthand. Through collaboration efforts, our teams are experiencing AVs – both in the US and in Europe. These positive experiences are guiding and informing our efforts in autonomy
- Listening to customers. Our research shows many consumers are open to autonomous technology once they get a chance to experience it. Awareness of AVs continues to grow, climbing 8 percentage points since 2024. Among the 10% of those surveyed who have actually ridden in an AV, 92% walked away with the same better perception of AVs. - Actively engaging with the ecosystem. We are working with companies in the mobility space to test, assess and continue learning how AVs might create better experiences for everyone – our customers, our team members and our business overall
- Our size, scale and diverse mobility solutions makes Enterprise Mobility uniquely positioned to thoughtfully introduce autonomous vehicle technology to millions of individual consumers and businesses globally
As with any new vehicle technology, we believe the best approach to introduction and viability is one that maintains a long-term perspective and puts the customer at the center.
