The Enterprise Mobility Foundation ™ has announced a $250,000 donation to the Hawai'i Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund to support the recovery efforts from the August wildfires that devastated the town of Lahaina on Maui’s northwest coast.
This builds on a $250,000 donation from the Enterprise Mobility Foundation to the American Red Cross to support the immediate search and rescue operations and disaster relief efforts in the aftermath of the wildfires.
The Maui Strong Fund was set up to support the immediate and long-term recovery needs of the people and places affected by the devastating wildfires.
The Hawai'i Community Foundation has been working in collaboration with state and county leaders, nonprofits and community members to understand the evolving priorities on the ground and support fund requests from local organizations.
"This donation is part of our long-standing commitment to support and strengthen our communities," Enterprise Mobility Foundation President Carolyn Kindle said. "We are proud to continue providing financial resources for disaster recovery efforts in Hawaii and help Lahaina rebuild."
The Maui Strong Fund management team has awarded grants to support a variety of focus areas such as animal welfare, childcare, communication, logistics and transportation, food and supplies, health care, immigrant services, lodging and shelter, mental health and grief counseling and workforce development.
As Lahaina continues the clean-up and recovery efforts from the destruction left from the wildfires, Enterprise Mobility teams in Maui have been helping local communities, governments and businesses with their transportation needs. For example, our team members have been working closely with insurance and collision repair partners to understand their demand and help ensure replacement vehicles are available for the residents of Lahaina. In addition, as a supplier of used vehicles, Enterprise is also working closely with Hawaii Gov. Josh Green and local dealers in Maui to ensure vehicles are available for sale to the community.
