Strengthening local communities is a core value at Enterprise Mobility, and never is it more critical than in the aftermath of a natural disaster. In the last decade alone, Enterprise Mobility’s Disaster Relief Program has contributed more than $22 million to support response and recovery efforts for over 50 major disasters globally, such as wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding and other crises.
To ground these efforts, the Enterprise Mobility Foundation has provided $1 million annually to the American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving program since 2015. This 10-year partnership has helped ensure the Red Cross is ready to offer a safe space to sleep, warm meal, emotional support and more to those in need after disasters big and small, whenever and wherever they occur across the country.
"We understand that disasters can happen at any time, and it is essential that individuals receive support the moment they need it," said Carolyn Kindle, president of the Enterprise Mobility Foundation. "Our partnership with the American Red Cross allows us to proactively support our communities during times of crisis."
Thanks in part to donors like the Enterprise Mobility Foundation, the Red Cross has expanded its capacity to help in the wake of disasters over the last decade — growing the number of overnight shelter stays from 32,000 to more than 1.5 million and increasing the number of meals and snacks served from 980,000 to over 4.6 million.
To build on this success, Enterprise Mobility is renewing its partnership with the Red Cross for another three years. Beginning in 2026, the Enterprise Mobility Foundation has pledged to increase its annual contribution to $2.5 million.
"The Enterprise Mobility Foundation has been a steadfast supporter of our mission for a decade, and we are deeply grateful for their increased investment as our partnership grows,” said Cliff Holtz, president & CEO of the American Red Cross. "As disasters become more frequent and intense, our ability to respond depends on the generosity of Annual Disaster Giving Program members like the Enterprise Mobility Foundation. Their continued commitment helps us deliver relief to those in need."
Enterprise Mobility also supports local recovery efforts on the ground. With a global fleet of more than 2.4 million vehicles, the business can move thousands of rental cars and trucks where they are needed most to assist individuals and agencies with recovery and clean-up efforts.
The organization’s Mobile Emergency Response Vehicle (MERV) operates as a portable, state-of-the-art branch office and can operate on a generator for more than 120 hours to support relief efforts even before local power is restored. Team members also have the ability to work from home or other operable locations with mobile tablets that enable them to process customer’s rental transactions from virtually anywhere until branches can safely reopen.
